Working with Sejal and The One Event was one of the greatest blessings of our wedding. From the moment we started the planning process and had our first phone call with her while trying to find an event planner who felt like a good fit, it was clear that we instantly connected and she made us feel like she would put our wishes and our vision at the center of everything she did. The choice to go with Sejal was an easy one. Through the entire process, Sejal made sure to come along on site visits for our venues, made great recommendations for various vendors, and was understanding and patient as we made our decisions. She was wonderful at coordinating all the communication with our various team members and was so accommodating of my crazy work schedule which meant she really took the reins in terms of sorting out most of the details as we went through the planning process. When we were drowning in emails from every direction, even when I couldn't respond myself in a timely fashion, I knew Sejal would be able to take care of getting back to our vendors and she would only reach out to me if she needed some clarification or to sort out a detail here or there. Especially because our original wedding date was scheduled for March 2020, just as the roller coaster of the pandemic was beginning, having Sejal as our biggest advocate made such a world of difference. Leading up to our original wedding date, she made sure to check in at regular intervals to see how I was doing and to get an idea of whether we had thought about a potential postponement without putting any pressure on us at all. Even without direction from me, she made the wise call to contact all of our venues and all of our vendors to ask about the logistics of possible changing our date so that when we made a decision, we had all the important information we would need available to us. We ended up postponing the Monday of our original wedding week and as soon as we made the decision, it took one text to Sejal for her to take care of absolutely everything else. As we were reeling from the emotions that come with having to postpone so late in the game, we never once had to worry about how to notify everyone and how to figure out a back-up plan—Sejal had it all under control and that was honestly one of the biggest comforts for us at that time. We ended up postponing twice and I really mean it when I say we could not have done it without her help and support. When it finally came time for our much anticipated wedding week, Sejal was such a rockstar in coordinating all of our events. Any questions I had, any details I needed to clarify, I could reach out to Sejal and she would take care of the rest. She was so good about checking in with me as things started but then was also so wonderful about staying in touch with my brother and my maid of honor in order to keep everything coordinated without having to bother me at all. She knew that staying on time was very important to us and I can honestly say that we stuck to the schedule just as we had hoped. All of our guests were so impressed with the attention to detail and the commitment to our timeline that Sejal helped direct. Even though she and her team had never before planned a Sikh wedding, she made sure to sit down with me and my mom well in advance to figure out exactly what was most important to us, what traditions and protocols needed to be respected, how we wanted everything to flow, and what our overall vision was for each event. She took so much of the pressure off of me and my family during our actual wedding week by having every detail figured out in advance and making sure that our only responsibility for every event was to show up and have fun. For what it's worth, the only food we ended up eating at each of our events was thanks to Sejal--she and her girls made sure to put food in our plates and hand it directly to us to confirm we actually got a chance to eat. If it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have gotten to taste any of our catering at the actual events. Especially in situations where things were not going exactly as planned, she made sure to never bring it up to me or let me find out in order to save me the stress — there were many fires she fought that I found out about much after the wedding because she protected me from any extra worries and took care of everything on her own, with direction from my mom and brother. Her team was also very friendly, very kind and attentive to our needs, and were a joy to have around. My family, who was initially very hesitant and unsure about the need for or the role of a wedding planner, cannot stop singing Sejal’s praises. It has been an absolute dream to work with Sejal and The One Event from start to finish and I could not imagine my wedding without her by our sides!
