1. We have so many brides ask us what is the best way to cover up dark circles for the wedding day?
The key to covering up dark circles is neutralizing! For example- yellow/orange neutralizes bluish / dark brown, green neutralized red, lavender neutralizes yellow and sallow complexions and so on. Put your concealer directly over the neutralizer and proceed with your regular makeup routine from there.
I’ll share a secret from my Grandma’s book of home remedies! Squeeze the juice out of a tomato and apply on dark circles. Leave for about 15 mins and rinse! Repeat 1-2 times a week for about 3-6 months and dark circles will be gone!
2. If a bride is nervous to wear a bold eyelid color then what do you normally suggest for her to wear?
Go neutral! Many brides are afraid to wear color on their eyelid since in their daily routine they never wear bold colors. For such client’s, I always suggest wear colors close to your skin tone and create drama with smoked edges, bolder eyeliner, or sometimes even a hint of color in waterline paired with a bold lip.
3. What's the best way to keep a veil or dupetta on a bride without compromising her look throughout the day.
Veil’s or dupatta stay very well when there’s something for them to hold onto. I like hairstyles with volume, updo’s, hair pieces, or concealed hair foams. For receptions, brides chose to wear their dupatta draped and pinned to the side or draped in arms.
4. What's the best product to use to keep a bride's makeup fresh?
There’s many setting spray’s in the market for keeping makeup fresh and in place. My favorite is Ben Nye’s Final Seal Spray. Mac’s Fix+ is also a good option because it can be used under and on top of makeup.
5. Finally, what's your signature look? (Brows, lips, hair, etc.)
Individuality! It’s about experimenting and understanding what features need enhancing on each individual. Personally, I like nude peachy tones with soft smoky eyes, but that may not suit all. Strong lips with natural makeup or strong smoky eyes with nude lips may suit one, but may not work on another. Blue eyeshadow may look amazing on one person, but on another might only work as blue eyeliner. That’s the amazing thing about makeup; you can have so much fun with colors and applications! Not one look needs to be applied to everyone.
